If you are interested in participating in Ultraman Worlds on the Big Island, there are a few MINIMUM requirements that MUST be met before your application will be considered. This event is by invitation only; thus, your qualifications will determine if you are invited or not. First and foremost, you must have completed one of the OFFICIAL Ultraman events at some time in your life. Once a finisher, always a finisher. Finishing any unlicensed event calling themselves an “Ultraman” doesn’t cut it. Currently, there are three other events that are official UM events: Ultraman Florida; Ultraman Arizona; and Ultraman Canada. There have been other events that were official in the past, that are no longer part of the Ultraman family and, if you finished those events while they were official, you are good to go. The second part of being qualified is that, you must have completed a long-course triathlon event of some type, preferably an Ironman-distance or longer, within 18 months of the expected date of the UM Worlds event to which you are applying. IF you are qualified, applications are taken through Active.com, in the year you wish to race. A link will be posted on the main web page once it is activated. If you have any further questions, please feel free to email <ultramanworlds@gmail.com> as we generally don’t respond to social media requests that tend to be more spam than legitimate requests for information. If you can’t be bothered to review our web site for information, then we won’t waste our time responding to you.
Participating in Ultraman World Championships is not to be taken lightly. The course is difficult and challenging, so that is why we always encourage you to participate in one of the other UM events to really assess whether you are ready to compete on the Big Island. If you are “on the bubble” every day in the other Ultraman events, you will likely have a difficult time finishing Ultraman Worlds within the 12-hour daily cutoff. We want you to succeed and enjoy your experience in Hawaii. Competing in one of the other Ultraman events will give you the experience and confidence, and the knowledge, you need to be a finisher in Hawaii. So, until then: Aloha, be safe out there, and we’ll look forward to seeing you in the future.
